This day trip tour gives you the opportunity to visit the famous world famous Ngorongoro Crater, nicknamed the eighth wonder of the world. The Crater is a world’s largest unbroken caldera which hosts varieties of animals includes the rare black Rhino.
Once you have reached the Ngorongoro gate, located approximately 200km outside of Arusha, you will descend into the Crater for a 6 hour game drive. During this time you will break for lunch at Ngoitokitok swamp, a Hippo pool. In this idyllic picnic spot, you get the opportunity to take in and picture the beautiful landscape that surrounds you.
Early pick up at Arusha then take 3 hours’ drive to Ngorongoro main entrance gate, then drive all the way to crater descending gate, but before descending into the crater for game drive you will pass through a traditional Maasai village where you’ll have the opportunity to experience the culture and lifestyle of its nomadic people. You’ll be welcomed by the Maasai and get an up-close look at their handmade house and unique traditional dances. Then proceed to the crater for the game drive with the picnic lunch in the midday at the base of the crater. Ngorongoro crater is one of the 8th Wonder of the World, the crater is a very important refuge for a variety of wildlife. Most commonly seen are big bulls of elephants and the vulnerable species of black rhinos. The crater is also home to big herds of wildebeest and zebras, Thomson and grant gazelles, hippopotamus, African cape buffalos, prides of lions, hyenas, serval cats, golden and black backed jackals, and close to 400 species of bird.
